The Golden Boys, How to Train Your Dragon and The Secret of Kells

<br />

The Golden Boys is based on a novel Joseph C. Lincoln, and is set in 1905 Cape Cod. Three sea captains retire and decide to live together, soon realizing that they could use the touch of a good woman. So they flip a coin to see who gets married to bring one home to take care of all three. It has a delightful folksy O Henry quality, and presents a good moral with no swearing. It also presents a nice simple view of the life of the retired seaman that even children can appreciate, and stars David Carradine, Rip Torn, Bruce Dern, Mariel Hemingway, Charles Durning, and others. http://www.moviesunlimited.com/musite/product.asp?sku=D02268++

Also, I want to recommend a blog by Steven Greydanus on two recent films, How to Train Your Dragon and The Secret of Kells http://www.decentfilms.com/blog/junior-knows-best. Both sound good. I'll try to see the first, however, it looks like we may have to wait for the latter to reach DVD before we see it. If it shows up around our area, I'll let you know.

As always, if you have something to recommend, please let me know. God Bless, Bobby
