I know this is a VERY late movie review post on "How to Train Your Dragon", but then I'll still go on writing it for a few reasons:
- I need to boost my blog traffic and I realised on way to do this is by doing a movie review 'cos it will attract visitors all around the world (see I got visitors from the USA. HAHA.).
- I couldn't help myself from not doing a movie review on this movie, you'll see why later.
- I have nothing to update on, so as they say "Nothing to write on, write movie review la." Pretty true I think.
Note: Spoilers ahead.
How to Train Your Dragon is a story about a Viking boy named Hiccup. He's a misfit among the rest of the teenage Viking children - he could not slay a dragon like the other Vikings do and his presence will always lead to trouble. However, it is said that a weird name like his, would always bring about something extraordinary. And true enough he did. Instead of slaying dragons, he found a way to be-friends with them after having to be-friend with the ever feared Night Fury to which he named as Toothless (OMG!).
The Good:
My RM6.00 and 1 hours 30 minutes spent in the cinema was all worth it. The movie's flow was pretty much intense and exciting through out the one and a half hour. Graphics and animations were very nice too. And not forgetting, they have something that attracted me the most.
That on the right is Toothless, as named by Hiccup. How could you resist not to pay attention to the cinema screen when they have such adorable creature?
There was this part when Toothless learns to draw on the sand with a tree branch and every time Hiccup steps on his drawing's outline, he gets angry. When Hiccup don't step on it, he turns cute again. Awwww....
And and, when Hiccup and Toothless brought Astrid on a ride along to convince Astrid that Toothless was harmless, Tootheless took revenge on scaring Astrid who earlier had insulted him. Which was sooo cutee..
Okay, you'll probably have a better picture on how cute is Toothless if you just go watch the movie. Alternatively, just watch the video below. Thanks to ItsJustAV for uploading the video.
Seriously a great movie as it is, that not even crying babies and toddlers in the cinema could spoil my mood. Then again, it's because of the ever interesting characters and storyline.
To those who loves animations and fantasy movies, this would probably the movie-to-watch. Bet you'll like it cos I liked it. Given the chance, I would probably go watch again and if I do have a remote in hand, I'll watch it in slow motion especially the part when Toothless is acting cute. HAHA..
Alright enough said, 5/5 for How to Train Your Dragon.
P.S: Heard that there's a lot of differences between the book and the movie. If I would have read the book beforehand, I would probably not like the movie, but then again, because of the adorable Toothless and the animations, I might still like the movie. LoL.
My advise? Always watch the movie first before reading the book 'cos, books and your own imaginations are usually better than movies. =D
What do you think about this particular animation?
